Proctors Theatre in Schenectady Putting on First Ever Fandom Fest

Proctors is putting on its inaugural Fandom Fest, scheduled to run Friday August 12 through Sunday August 14. The collaborative is hoping it will become an annual event appealing to gamers, tv & movie fans, esports lovers, and overall pop culture enthusiasts.

The three day event will be held at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, basically taking over the entire venue from the arcade to both theatres with celebrity interactions, cosplay, lots of games, and relics from classic movies and tv shows.

So, who can you meet? The list of confirmed celebrities is as follows:

• Adrienne Barbeau, actress who appeared in many films, plays and tv shows including Swamp Thing and Maude

• Rodger Bumpass, the voice of Squidward Tentacles from SpongeBob

• James Marsters, actor who played Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer

• Keith David, actor who appeared in The Thing and Armageddon

• Elden Hensen, actor from The Mighty Ducks, Daredevil and The Hunger Games

• Debbie Rochon, actress who starred in several independent horror movies

More celebrities are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

How about some photo ops with some beloved movie and tv props? They’ll have those too:

• The Delorean from Back to the Future

• The Batmobile and Batcycle from the 1960s Batman tv show

• A life-sized Flintstones mobile

• The Munster Koach from the Munsters tv show

There is a pre-sale happening until May 15 where a three day pass is $120. There are also student and child discount passes available. Prices go up on May 16.
