Back in April, just a few days before dressing Minari director Lee Isaac Chung for the Oscars, the founders of the rising L.A. label Goodfight—Caleb Lin, Julia Chu, Calvin Nguyen, and Christina Chou—told GQ they had two big goals for 2021: launch a core line of seasonless essentials and open their own retail space. As of last Friday, the quartet can officially cross both items off their to-do list, thanks to “Everyday Technology,” Goodfight’s freshly-launched pop-up shop celebrating the brand’s new capsule collection of the same name.

Situated in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, the airy, sunny space houses a minimalist wooden structure designed to resemble a traditional Japanese summer house. “A lot of times in the countryside, you’ll see old-style Japanese houses with wraparound decks that are [used as] a kind of social space,” Lin explains. “With a lot of us not being able to travel right now, we wanted to provide an opportunity for people to come and explore, shop a little bit, sit down, and re-center themselves.” Hanging on that platform, you’ll find the entire Everyday Technology line, comprised of thoughtful, elevated essentials—button-ups and basketball shorts, T-shirts and trousers—all designed with Goodfight’s signature wit and attention to detail.
For the latest episode of #ShopTalk on the @GQRecommends Instagram, we asked the Goodfight squad to take us on a tour of the Everyday Technology pop-up—which is open right now at 311 S Broadway in Los Angeles through October 19. If you aren’t able to visit in person, though, you can still shop the full capsule at Goodfight’s website—including all the standouts the team highlighted below.
